Aeroshow At Avalon - Australia

Fri Mar 06, 2009 8:30 am

Just wondering how many Airliners.net photographers are planning to attend the Avalon-2009 Airshow?

I'll definitely be there on Wednesday as I managed a free trade day ticket. Depending on how Wednesday goes and the weather I may go on Thursday as well.

I will be there for the three public days.

After that I will head over to Tullamarine for a few days and hopefully get the QF A380s.

I heard it wasn't going to be very well attended (with the finance crisis) so I didn't make any booking.

I couldn't get any spare time to go.

Don't know about that. I've just talked over the phone with a friend who is actually working at the air show now, and he's worked at the most of the previous ones. He says it doesn't look much different from the previous years as far as aircraft attendance.

Then again, I'll always look at the bright side. If it is somewhat less attended by the public - so much the better for the photographers   .

I guess that's me. I've been at Avalon since Saturday. Just home for the night, then back again tomorrow. In terms of aircraft, there are more on site than the corresponding time last year. Can't say how the crowds will pan out as there haven't been any yet  Smile

I'll be there, too, starting tomorrow.

Only if you don't mind camping: (03) 5282 0500 . That's the Airshow camping site; they still might have some free spots.

Anyway, if anyone would like to make contact - my mobile phone No is in my A.net profile.

Cheers,

I'll be there on the Sunday - First JQ flight down from Sydney and last back, after Coldplay on Saturday night  Big grin

I'll be wandering around with my D300 and undecided lens, along with my Dad and his D700.

Less crowds would be great... it was pretty crowded in 07.

For those who are there already for the trade days - what USAF aircraft are there this year?

Does anyone have a map of the grandstands and runways I can use because I am flying down tomorrow morning and don't know which grandstand to choose!
