Photo Acceptance - Pre Screening (asuFlyer05)

Tue Apr 28, 2009 5:40 am

Hello. I would appreciate any advice on following photo. The top is the original and the bottom is the edited version. I think I may have darkened the highlights a bit too much.

I look forward to your critique.

The US Airways shot looks like it has slight a colour cast. Should be easy to fix. Nice shot!

The US Airways is unlevel. Centering is a bit off too. Colour may be a bit off but not too bad.

The contrast in the Delta shot is harsh. The original may be over-exposed.

Not too sure about that one, the grid on PS shows the horizontals (taxiway markings) as level.

I would say it looks ok to me.

You can't use horizontals as reference for level images, since you might have taken the picture at an angle. Always use vertical lines (i.e. lightpoles, corner of buildings) since they are 90 degrees to the ground.

Coming to think of it, it could do with some slight CCW rotation. My bad.

There's twice the pixels behind the aircraft than in front. Picky? Maybe. Attention to detail? Definitely.

I'm quite brutal with my own pics and therefore no different with those of others.

Thanks for the second set of eyes everyone. I've made another set of revisions based on your feedback and tossed the A319 into the queue.

I found an article online on how to try and correct some of the overexposure in the 757 photo and will attempt it when I get home.

Thanks again!
