Thanks For The Documentation

Fri May 08, 2009 12:41 am

I just noticed in my Photographer's Corner the links for the rejection guide and the editing in Photoshop guide.

One quick glimpse shows that these will be of great help to me, big thanks to Tim, Eduard, and all those involved in creating them.

Yep, solid and sound explanations to everything.

About "distance" however : how come the tighter cropped 747 is distance. It still loks OK.

HI All

I'm so excited this is finally online.

There are a few issues to be ironed out but it should already be very helpful as it is now. The rules are already a bit outdated as I wrote this over a year ago but I will be updating it soon to reflect our current rules.

This will be the place to go in the future for the status on rules and updates.

Please post any mistakes etc here so I can make note of them

Thanks
Tim

Tim, at the "cropping" section, the original photo is not displaying correctly.

I would just like to add my compliments to the folks who put that page up. Made for interesting reading; and I'm sure it'll be very helpful to aspiring photographers.

One image, as pointed above, under the 'Correct Cropping' section, is not displaying.

Currently all images are compressed. While for some reasons this is not a problem it is for others. Sharpness softness or blurriness are not visible as they should be in an uncompressed image. This will hopefully be fixed soon so that those images become visible like they were intended

Some of the images are small (ca. 800x600 ?), maybe making the the standards size would be a lot more helpful ie 1024x...

Yes another point I failed to mention is that I originally intended to display them at 1000 pixels wide, the minimum for uploading to a.net. Hopefully they can be linked to the larger uncompressed sizes, like in the new editing guide

Hi all

Tim spent many hours working on this so well done to him and to the screeners who helped out!

Good to see it finally online. Also good that it will be updatable by Headscreeners as and when we need to.

Regards

Plus it must have been very difficult for him to shoot a couple of bad shots for examples, since everything he shoots is normally first class!  Wink
