New Monitor, First Images, How Are They?

Sun Jun 07, 2009 7:02 pm

I have recently purchased a whole new system and now use an LCD 1920x1080 monitor having used 1024x768 CRTs for the last decade or so. So far I am not entirely convinced by the colour reproduction and I am finding a slight blue hue to the display. I was at LHR last weekend so I have editied four shots from that trip so that others can see them and give me an idea of if they are ok (in terms of colour).

I have not yet calibrated the monitor and I'm looking at purchasing the Spyder suite but I would just like opinions on these before I purchase anything.

When I changed monitor (laptop actually because I'm working on two laptops but I am only processing photos on one) I compared a couple similar pictures which I found on airliners to my processed picture to see colour cast differences and contrast.
But the best idea is purchasing calibrating suite to adjust the monitor.

Thanks for your reply, I have been doing that too as I have a VAIO laptop that I use for other stuff, I'll have to do some more comparisons later as I'm not entirely convinced.
