Citing Sources.

Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:34 pm

Hello  Smile

Maybe a silly question but shouldn't we cite our sources when we add info in the remarks-field? Are we even allowed to mention our sources?

I've rarely ever seen that being done here and that feels a bit odd.
I'm just now uploading one, wanted extra info but that proved to be rather hard to find. I ended up on a website from an old friend who has excellent knowledge on the subject and I feel rather compelled to at least mention this in the remark-field. The rejection guide clearly states that an URL is forbidden in the remark-line so that is a clear no for citing my source. What if I just wrote something like "Thanks to Xyz's website for this info"?

Can somebody shed some light here?

Ty, cheers,

Hi Jan,

as you mentioned correctly we don't allow URLs (nor email addresses for that matter) in the Remark field but if you want to cite your source you're of course more than welcome to do so.
If you mention a competing website I wouldn't count on the Remark being accepted though.  Wink

Kind Regards,
