I need thoughts on these two pics, both were taken at BOS today(7/13). Comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

The shots are not too bad, but there are a couple of things you probably want to work on.
Both have the bad combination spots of softness (typically the nose and tail areas) and some over-sharpening (DL widget, B6 has halos around the gear and engine nacelles have jaggies starting to show). I'd say the problem leans more towards softness, but be careful how you apply the sharpening.

Both are backlit, but the DL suffers from this the most. Not much you can do about that.

Both could use a tighter crop, especially the B6. Lots of empty space around the front of the aircraft.

Both have a really strong color cast in the cyan/blue area, so you'll need to adjust that to the red/yellow side.

All in all, not suitable for submission yet, but possibly after some re-working. The B6 probably stands the best chance in the end.

Dana's offered some great advice there so no point repeating the same but quality wise the images are okay, just need to shoot with the sun on your back and not on top of the aircraft,Both images the sun is too high above for the angle they were taken, maybe another hour or two they probably would've turned about better.

Keep these for personal collection and go out and try and shoot in more favourable light conditions.

Cheers Mark.

Thank you both for the advice. I'm probably going to dump them and redo them soon.
