Photo Acceptance - Post Screening

Tue Jul 21, 2009 5:11 pm

Hi,

I've got two photos rejected due to the different reasons. It's confusing because both of them have been shot with the same camera settings and the same lighting conditions (shot in the same direction within few minutes, so lighting conditions are identical). Image size and compression settings are the same as well.

Rejection reason of first photo: color soft

I don't understand what is wrong with color here - is it oversaturated or white balance adjustment is wrong ?
What must be sharpened to fix softness rejection?

Rejection reason of second photo: grainy compression

I don't find what areas should be corrected to fix grainy rejection - sky or aircraft surfaces ? Compression rejection is also confusing because compression settings are the same as in all recently uploaded my photos.

Your opinions will be appreciated.

1st one has a greenish cast, and it's softness is apparent around the tail logo and the SC135

2nd one, jpeg compression or oversharp artefacts, most noticeable under the wings.

Thanks for your opinion, JohnKrist.

I think it is probably impossible to avoid impression of under wings oversharp artefacts in 2nd photo, because flaps and ailerons of this aircraft are made of corrugated metal.
