Photo Acceptence - Pre Screening (Cactushp)

Mon Aug 03, 2009 3:05 am

I took these 2 photos at Airventure and I thought they are worthy of uploading. Please tell me what you think.

I like the attempt on the second one, but unfortunately I see a bad motive rejection for both. If you did decide to try with the second one (first's not worth it at all), you'd of course need to edit it down to size, and I would suggest fixing the softness and really bad CA/fringing in the (bottom) left side.

Still, I'd say it's probably not worth the effort for that one either.

Thank you for your input. How about these two?

How about these two?

I like the first one... Quality-wise I'd do two things - 1. Brighten and add a little contrast. 2. Sharpen and then reduce to 1024. I can't say what the screeners will say about the motive... there's a lot of dead space in the upper-left, but it could make it in under the 'artistic' guise. Worth a try after a little fixing up anyway.

Second one's also a pretty shot, but the quality's not quite up to standard. It's soft and grainy, which is a bad combination to try and remedy. I'd pass on submitting that one.

At least it's worth a shot

Yeah, first one for sure. If you can get past the motive problem, you should be ok.

Second one doesn't have a chance... not only is the motive questionable, but the quality is pretty poor too (as mentioned above). Still soft and it's still got the ugly CA/fringing too. Not much point in leaving that one in the queue.
