Hi, I bought this exact bundle from Jessops in June, it was only £499 at the time and a bit of research made my mind up that it was a decent DSLR to start with. I recall it was top rated by Which at the time. The Tamron lens is acceptable as long as you have good lighting conditions, I find its sweet spot is between f8 and f11.
It is well worth having the kit lens too as mentioned earlier. I take a lot of shots at Liverpool and there are a couple of locations where the 18-55 frames a subject perfectly. Also if you going to use the camera generally then the small lens is a must.
To be honest it's a learning curve with me and I have been told by fellow photographers that it is an ideal entry level piece of kit that produces excellent results. In addition, my other half uses the macro feature of the Tamron to great effect with some stunning shots of bees, butterflies, plant and flowers.
I've had several Anet acceptances and a couple of rejections but I put these purely down to me learning the camera and Photoshop techniques.
Here are a couple of my Anet acceptances shot with the kit;
If you do buy the bundle, make sure you go instore and haggle with them a bit, I managed to get a bag and polarizing filter for an extra £20, should have been £75!
