FYI - Today's QF1 - Socceroos Colour Scheme

Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:58 am

FYI - a heads up to those in Bangkok and London, today's QF1 leaving this 6:00pm this afternoon from Sydney should be VH-OJS, a RR powered B747-400, with the new titles, new logo, and a very large Socceroos motifs on the side of it.

It's in support of Australia's 2010 World Cup campaign.

Shame it comes into Heathrow when its pitch black although a departure shot would be nice from someone.

Nice heads up

I wasn't able to snap it, but basically, it's like the old Wallabies 767, with a sort of a gold scarf effect on the side of it. Quite nicely done.

And for once, the regular Sydney photographers get the jump on everyone else. Big grin

Appears you did not miss much, looks to me like QF1 was operated by OJT so perhaps tomorrows QF063 to JNB might be a chance?(and I have to stay home to get a tradesman's quote between 11 & 1:00PM darn!!)
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

Damn.  Sad

I was hoping to get it. That QF63 is a good one, that flies over my house very low before it turns south. Low enough that 560mm should be able to capture it.

But, I'll couple the D80 to the rocket-launcher lens combination with a 1.4x TC - maybe I'll get lucky with manual focus.  Wink

That didn't take long. Didn't think this would qualify for priority screening - since it is just a decal.

No need for me to try and photograph it then.
