Now I'm in the need of a new screen - my Apple Cinema Display has started to badly lose brightness , and it seems to display photos softer than they actually are (meaning I upload oversharpened photos that look fine on my PC
). In the meantime, I have my PC
(with ACD) beside the iMac, so I can quickly compare images. But this isn't very practical in the long run.
Looking at a number of cheap options to start with, and more costly ones later:
Dell U2410 24-inch Monitor
Dell 3008WFP 30-inch UltraSharp Monitor
Cinema Display 24" flat panel (with a DVI to display port adaptor)
NEC SpectraView 221
Eizo ColorEdge CG222W
Eizo Flexscan Premium SX2462W
I'm tempted towards the Eizo displays, but they are so expensive. I wouldn't chance another Apple display, mainly because the warranty is very poor with them. Anyone have experience with the Dell and NEC displays?
This message (http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19311117.aspx) makes me very doubtful about the quality control of Dell displays...

At my main residence I use a 30" Apple cinema display. At my "winter" house I have a Dell (latest version) 24". I use both to screen with.
I thought the screeners were given a standard screen that they must
