Info Required: DUS And MAD

Mon Mar 08, 2010 9:42 pm

Please could anyone assist with the following.

DUS - I've heard on the grapevine that the Terrace at the Railway station only opens occasionally. Looking at the recent photos on anet, it would appear to be the case. Please could someone supply more details.

MAD - Are there any more photo locations other than the 'mound' for the famous taxi-way shots and doing arrivals in the afternoon at 33L. Again, any help with information or links to websites would be appreciated.

Whenever I've been to DUS the rail station terrace has been open. I know recently it was periodically closed due to the station being refurb'd and the small mall I believe has gone but other than that I'm not aware of any problems. Perhaps someone can elaborate?

As for MAD, there are many other locations but a car is essential. If you confirm you have transport I'd be happy to assist further.

DUS: Both terraces are closed whenever the temperatures are below 0°C. This used to apply on when the weather was really bad (rain+snow) but it seems as if the airport changed that.
The building which houses the railway station terrace has been rebuilt into an event location which means that it might be closed occassionally .

Weather has been pretty good the past days and will be so tomorrow. You might be lucky...
Was planing to go to DUS tomorrow, too. So in case the terraces are closed I could show you another good spotting location which is rather new. Just drop me a line.
