Spotting At HNL

Sun Apr 11, 2010 2:03 pm

Hi,

I will be in Honolulu for a holiday/spottingtrip at the beginning of July.
Have searched the web for recent information about the spotting possibilities at HNL airport but couldn't find any.
Any ideas where I can find a website with info about spotting in HNL?
Any tips about spotting in HNL?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Fred,

I've been in HNL in January and though I haven't been there for spotting, I was able to get a few nice shots from the terminal: http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...atedesc&q=planecatcher+hnl&submit=

The terminal is pretty photographer friendly and worth a longer stay if you intend of taking some photos there. I don't know about outside locations but if you do shoot outside be aware of the heat haze.

Other than that, enjoy the island, it's really fantastic!

Cheers,

Thierry

I was @ HNL in Jan 2007 for vacation , but found some spare time to be at airport for spotting. Terminal is a good place indeed , but there is a good place at the end of Lagoon Dr. Nice view of the airport , close to reef rwy , good at morning and late afternoon.
