New Screening Communication Crew

Hello All

In response to your feedback we have established a new communication crew as part of the screening team. These crew members will deal with enquiries and issues that arise as part of the screening process in relation to your uploads. When required, Head Screeners on the team will make the final call on decisions.

We have created a new email address for this crew to field your enquiries and we ask that you contact them directly via an email to the following address - communication@airliners.net. We ask when you contact the team that you provide as much information as possible and that you use the following as some guidelines;

1: Clearly identify your photographer name and Airliners.net username.
2: Be as specific as you can about which rule, category or issue that you are enquiring about.
3: Always use communication@airliners.net

You will receive an initial acknowledgment of your enquiry and we ask you then afford the team time to respond taking into account the effect of time zones. Any emails to screeners@airliners.net will also be handled by the communication team.

Thank you for your co-operation and we look forward to working further with you.

I'm not sure I get this. Why are we putting a third party between the users who have the questions and the screeners who have the answers the users are looking for? Are the new crew just messengers? Seems like this will slow down communication as users will ask questions to the new crew who will have to pass the question on to the screeners who will answer to the new crew who will then reply.

Am I not understanding this correctly?

Yes, I believe you have misunderstood. The new communication team is composed of current screeners who have volunteered to handle communication with the rest of the community. Having a dedicated team to do this allows the other screeners to focus on screening and makes it easier to streamline communication between the crew and the community.

Hopefully this will alleviate cases of questions to the screeners going unanswered or there being significant delays in responding to such queries. Hope that clears things up for you,

I think this is a good initiative, that should facilitate both efficient screening and effective communication.

I wonder this too. And I think it added to my confusion. That's fine that the screening team wants to dedicate certain members of the crew to handle communication, but I wonder...why does it matter to us? Why not just leave everything in place, but have those crew members handle the emails? Seems like an internal thing that doesn't really need to be externalized...

Anyway sorry if I'm making a big deal about this. I'm quite irritable right now...long night. heh...

What exactly is there to communicate about at this new 'entity' ? What are the issues ? Stuff about only oneself's uploads or thers too ?

Some screeners are limited to the amount of time they have available while some of us have more time,Having the communication team will make it easier to handle the daily issues,queries we receive.

I would be supportive of anything that improves communication - a big theme for me over the years that I have been a member.

Glad to see a plan such as this to address such an important issue.
