Need Some Advice

Mon May 24, 2010 9:50 pm

Lately I have been messing around with different shots. As a motive I decided to capture a shot of the airfield at Pearson Airport. The shot also captured two Air Canada arcraft, one touching down..

I wanted to hear what others think the chances of this being accepted are.... BTW, the photo is obviously scaled down

Sorry, but I think this would have little chance of being accepted.

The foreground is cluttered and the subject matter is not very striking.

Thanks for the input, I'll save this one for myaviation only.

I am thinking about adding this one today, I just took it. Any and all thoughts welcome... if you need to because of PB limited resolution, I can send this one in an email

First of all, the image is too small... minimum size is 1000px on the long side.

Secondly, it will get distance (at least). There is too much empty space surrounding the aircraft.

I can remove the empty space, but I also poitned out that the pic is scaled down because of PB restrictions. The original is 1280 long.

The sun is shining on the far side of the aircraft.

Sorry, I missed that part... but you need to find another place to upload your pics to present here. It is impossible to comment on quality if it is not in the correct size.

Oh... oops, too much enhancing the shadows. I'll leave that off this time...

How is this instead, recropped, and no highlight enhacement

It's still backlit - and will always be.

The crop is much better.

But as Viv pointed out, the aircraft is backlit (which has nothing to do with enhanced shadows). As you can see, around the nose, the wings and tires, the sun hits the aircraft from the starboard side.
