Attn. IND Spotters. DL 744 Coming 05/27/10

Tue May 25, 2010 11:30 am

Looks like Delta is operating a military charter this Thursday, May 27, 2010. It will be DL 8957. Operating KWI-HHN-GTB-IND. STA into IND is 1505 ETD. The a/c will then ferry to DTW. As of now it is scheduled to operate with Ship # 6302. I'm guessing it will park over in the old International Ramp. If anyone can take a picture of it, please do so.

Thanks

Well I am sure the Department of Defence is happy with you releasing information regarding one of their troop charters.

Not to mention the rather specific routing and flight numbers so that tells me you or someone you know, must have access to DL internal computers. Releasing information that specific on a public forum can and will get you fired, if it hasn't already. Its refered to propietary information, which basically translates into, don't release to the public.

As an aviation fan that I am, I can understand that it is rather noteworthy that a 744 would be in IND. But you could and should have left out the flight number and routing of the aircraft prior to planned arrival, and just made a statement regarding a 744 with be arriving in IND on 5/27/10 ETA 1500 hrs local.

I wish I had known about this sooner, I probably could have convinced my father to drive me up to IND to see it parked.

Although, I don't think anything can beat seeing a CargoLux 744F and a FedEx 772F do a simultaneous takeoff on the 5's.

All information other than the words military charter and ship number can be found on the internet through FlightAware. The troop charter info could be determined by putting two and two together. Ship number is also not really a secret -- it is painted on the side of the airplane anyway. Lighten up.
Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand, just find a place to make your stand and take it easy
