The Use Of "Other" In The Airline/Operator Field

Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:08 pm

There are currently 23 examples of photos in the database (out of 1.6m) with the Airline/Operator field "Other" being used. I have checked all 23, whew!, and I can find no reason for any of them to display "Other" in that field. "Untitled" or "Unknown" can easily replace 21 of the 23 photos while one should display the actual airline being photographed (Air Berlin) and the other should display the titles of a company/government I'm not familiar with.

When should "Other" be used and is it necessary when we have "Untitled" or "-" (airport overviews) as options?

Hello unattendedbag,

"Other" really shouldn't be used as a listing in the airline field so I will correct all 23 photos right now. In most cases, "Untitled" will be appropriate for aircraft and "-" will be appropriate for locations.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Regards,

Edward
