Victorville Sightseeing

Him

I'm driving from Vegas to L.A. and will be passing Victorville where there is supposed to be all these plane stored. Is there any way of taking a tour or somehow seeing the planes parked from distance?

Thanks,

E

The best place is a hill that you will see just southwest of the airport fence....your car can make it to the top with no problem and just bring some good binoculars

Any security issues because of this?

If you are talking about the hill near the power plant it's actually the Northeast corner of the airport. It's not a bad spot to view from but If you take Airexpressway west, there is a new street that was just built for the Dr. Pepper plant so I don't know what the name of it is but it will take you near the planes that are parked on the west end (3 QF 744's, some DC10's, L1011's, 2 UA 762's and a few UA 733's). You can also view from highway 395 pretty well too.

Actually I am talking about the hill by the residential area on what I believe is the southwest corner of the airport and down a dirt road by the airport fence line---the power plant rise is on the other end of the airport and not nearly as good a view---my hill is quite high and an excellent vantage point...

You're being kind in calling it a residential area, but I won't use the more accurate term.

Just don't linger there too long.
