Well done Karl,

About time. I met Karl (and the famous orange case) about 18 months ago up at MAN, durning which time we often meet up at MAN, Curse the the weather, Moan about heat haze and talk about Karls love for dogs off their leads near his camera case (Enough said).

Sometimes there's a story behind a shot.
Without a Team Viewer link from my PC at work to my SBS-1 at home, this shot wouldn't have happened.
Karl was at LHR, I was letting them know what was on the ILS for 27L, 3pm RWY change and a call to Karl to say GulfAir F1 Logojet going from the stack toward the ILS for 27R. He drives from Caines lane (27L) to somewhere on the approach of 27R, Dumps the car at a car park enterance to get the shot. Well done mate, heres to driving like an fool accross London and upsetting the locals

Thanks folks. Nothing special for my 1,000th - I was just glad to scrape by and make it, given my awful editing technique and the masses of recent rejections!

Gary, I'm sure you know better than most that I could tell stories relating to 99% of the shots I take! There's usually some amusing tale leading up to the shutter press!

The amount of times I've fallen over in the mud racing for a shot, or driven through country lanes at break-neck speed to get there in time. Then there's the mad rush to get my gear back in the box before the lead-less, soaking wet dog inevitably comes jumping up at me! Also, mustn't forget being on the mounds that time at MAN when that bird cr*pped on my head! Finally, there's the immodest language and cursing just as that rare plane taxies off short.....

All fun and games! Stuff always seems to happen to me. Hope some day to meet many more of you around the world's airports.

Karl

Quoting JakTrax (Reply 5):

Like someone else I know driving at 90km/h on a 40km/h street to get to see a certain plane!

Good on you for reaching 1000.
