Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:56 pm

Hello everyone

I make for the first time, pictures of airplanes, and I'm not very satisfied until the results. The first time, so may be it's normal. I think I set the camera wrong, do you have any advice to give me some methods to use. If anyone wants to see the quality of pictures

Sorry for my English

Thank you all for your help.

Hello Max,
I too started out with the G10, in fact a majority of my pictures on this site were taken with it and I still use it regularly. What settings are you using and how do the photos appear to be coming out? Indeed it would help to see some examples.

Hi Max and welcome aboard.

Without seeing some pictures it is difficult to say where the problems may be, but some possibilities are

1 not having the full resolution of the photo (4416x3312 Large)
2 not having superfine compression
3 using digital zoom... avoid this, it's not a real zoom, it just enlarges part of the image.

The camera itself does have a fairly good reputation for images but is probably best for static objects, see for example photos here taken with the camera.

Nothing particularly wrong with that photo - except that you were shooting into the sun.

The main issue I see in the two shots is that the planes are backlit, the sun is shining on the opposite side of the aircraft that you are shooting. For a properly exposed shot, you want the sun to be shining on the same side of the aircraft that you are shooting. With the time of day and the accessibility of positions to shoot from this can be a little tricky at times.
