Spotting At FLL

Tue Jul 12, 2011 4:11 pm

I have been living in Davie for 14 years and I just want to some good spotting locations by the hangar on the cargo side were the A310 FED-EX and MD-11F hang out and IBC airways parks.

Dude, you seem to be asking a lot of questions in this forum but the way in which you ask leaves us puzzled. Most of us browse the internet until we find what we are looking for - what's the point of asking others to do work you yourself should be doing?

If the answers I seek are not freely available online I come here as it's a good place to get assistance. But you have to help yourself before others can begin to help you. Look through some FLL shots here and perhaps email the photographers if you like the look of a particular place.

No-one minds helping out but many won't be prepared to look up information on your behalf if you are too idle. Your threads remind me of those that crop up every now and then that ask, "How do I switch my camera on?".

Check out this link. I spot at FLL sometimes but only use the spots onlined in this guide. The area you are referring to might not be open to spotting without scrutiny from Airport security.

I misread him. I thought that he made a sp. error and meant "I just went to some"

Why would you want to spot where Fed Ex parks? Isn't that on the north side of the field? You'd be shooting into the sun.

I would have liked to get closer to where all those YS-11s are parked. I was only able to get one from the spotting area by the runway approach to 9L

Are there police or US customs officers there?

This time of year, you're really not shooting into the sun, especially two hours before sunset and two hours after sunrise.
