Mon Jan 09, 2012 10:24 pm

Hi everyone,

Seeking help from any Italian guys here.

How is Rome FCO for photoghraphy? Any issues with local police? More to the point, are there any good photo spots and if so what sort of lens power will I need?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Karl...

Unfortunately, I've never been to Rome... so I can't tell you what it really is, nor I can offer you any personal experience of that area. I'm sorry for this.

But I can link you the site of Roma Spotters, the association of Rome Spotters.
If you go on their forum, along with all the italian sections, you can find also a specific "international section" where you can ask everything you want to know... and in English, of course!  http://www.romaspotters.it/forum/vie...d=3268b8f7b3ec7ebaffb23561f7701043

But before posting there you have to sign up... but I think it shouldn't be a problem!

Sorry if I have not really contribued to solve your questions, but this is all I know... better than nothing, I think!

Just to give you an idea, I've found this map:
http://maps.google.it/maps/ms?ie=UTF....274647&spn=0.093396,0.174236&z=13

Red signs are spots for the afternoon while the blue ones are for the morning... there is also a remark that says that a car is nearly mandatory since there is no public transportation you can use to move between the spots.

I've read some remarks for the spots signed there... and it seems that most of the time a lens like 70-300 is needed...
Of course, I know of some people that got good results with a 100-400...
