Which Camera&lens Is Good To Use Near Eham

Fri Jan 27, 2012 8:35 pm

Dear people, this is my first experience on A.net.
I started spotting in october, so in e fresh photographer.
I got a Nikon D3100 with 2 kit lenses (18-55VR and 55-300VR) and a BIGMA (SIGMA 150-500/5.0-6.3 DG OS APO HSM Nikon-AFD).

Now here's my question to you guys: are these good lenses to photograph near eham because i haven't really experienced good days with good weather.
I don't really like my pictures too, compared to the ones i see out here.

If anyone has some tips or tricks for me, please tell me!

sincerely,

Bart M

As for focal length it seems you've got it covered! Quality wise I'm not sure as I don't shoot Nikon. You're a beginner so I wouldn't go out buying more eqpt just yet. If you're experiencing bad photos as you put it, try going out when the weather is nice. Choose a blue sky day, the light is perfect this time of year. Head out to 36L, aka the Polderbaan and keep practicing, looking at the rear screen after each shot to see where you're going wrong. Or go up on the viewing deck. Try shooting with the Sun behind you and the plane in front. Just simple things will help you immensely!

Thanks alot spencer.

I shot alot of pictures just to practice, and i have to say... the results are getting better each time!
I got alot of photo's which i compare to the photo's on A.net but I just can't get close enough with the quality and sharpness.

I will keep trying and i hope i will once post some pictures online!

Good luck Bart and just keep trying mate!!! Practice practice practice. That's the only way! You've got the results directly in front of you so just go from that!!!

Hi Bart,

Welcome here and good luck. Do not hesitate to ask for help to your fellow photographers through the Photography Feedback forum http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/photography_feedback/

As far as AMS, this place is very sensitive to heat haze. So try using all your lenses to figure out the results, but remember that a long focal length will amplify the image deformation provoqued by heat haze. The closer you are to the aircraft, the best in those circumstances.

Cheers
