Apologies To The Screeners

Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:41 am

First of all, I have only a photographer membership, so I post this message here. Feel free to move it or remove it afterwards.

I remember about 3 years ago, when I uploaded my first photo to Airliners.net. After the uploading process, the webpage told me that the results would be sent within 7 days.

Well, back then I didn't know how to find the queue status page, so I was disappointed when the results were not sent within seven days. The results were sent in about 10 days, and, since it was my first upload, the photo was with no doubt rejected

I believe that I sent an email to the crew, wondering about why it was not sent within 7 days. Looking back now, it was such a foolish and amateur move.

So, now, 3 years later, I give my apologies for my silliness in sending that email. It's just that I was unaware of how the process worked.

So, thank you to all of you who help maintain this website, it is truly amazing!

Thanks,

Jonny

If the process needs more time for screening, then the website should not say 7 days or something like that.

It's just a standard message that is set in the system... It takes an average of 7 days. If there are a lot of pics uploaded each day (1100 per day for example) then I think it's not more than normal that it takes a bit longer if you want to maintain the quality you stand for!

I know sometimes it takes longer to maintain the quality, then they could delete this "7 days" words, it's such a simple thing.

We aim to keep the queue at around 7 days which is not always possible when people are on holiday or if more pictures are uploaded. As there are regular emails with new uploaders being surprised that their pictures are not added instantly it is important to make clear that this is going to take some.
