I walked out into my backyard this afternoon, hoping to see a few Delta Widebodies pass by. (I used flightradar24 to find them).
I immediately got out my camera (Nikon D5100, 55-300mm lens), because I wanted to take a few photos. I got quite a surprise. There was this completely amazing contrail being made by the DL763. It was a rainbow being made in the sky by this plane. I took as many photos as I could, and got some really amazing results. I have never seen anything like this in my life.
Have any of you seen something like this before? I certainly had not.
Apparently, it is quite rare, as the conditions have to be perfect. Today was really humid, and warm here. We have a storm pass overhead the night and morning before. Here is a link to some information about this phenomenon:
I just tried to upload a few of the pictures to this website (1st time). Hopefully they will go through, if they do, I will comment with links to them.
The thing is, these contrails were like nothing I had ever seen, the various bright colors stayed behind the plane for another 200-400 feet, they didn't end over the wings. It was like a real rainbow coming from this flight. The only problem is I don't know if anyone will believe me that they are very very lightly edited. The only thing done to the photos was slight definition, and contrasting. Which, honestly, didn't even change the colors of the contrail. What should I do?
