500 Photos - I Finally Got There - Thanks To You!

Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:12 pm

Hi all,

it was March 2009 when I uploaded a photo successfully for the first time on a.net - instantly hit the frontpage and has been my most viewed photo since then. The first 100 photos were taken with a Lumix TZ10, which of course did not produce great results... After that I got myself a Nikon D7000 and after struggling with it for some time, I tried to listen to the advice I got and to decrease the number of rejects. Nevertheless, I still have a long way to go, until I reach perfection

Anyway, a few days ago I hit some quite important (at least to me) milestones: Having 500 photos and getting more than 3 million clicks!

Here is photo number 500:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Saudi-Arabian-Airlines/Boeing-777-268-ER/2125391/ (how do I include pictures in a post?...)

I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who have supported me and apologize for all the rejects I created   It is great to get in contact with so many dedicated people that all share the same fascinating interests!

So, the next goal is 1000 photos and 5 million clicks! Let's see which one I reach first

Safe flights and happy spotting to all of you,

Felix

PS: I created a little facebook page that also features some photos and videos that didn't make it, highlights and a bit more... It surely would love to have some more people like it -> http://www.facebook.com/felixgottwaldaviationphotography

Difficult, because of the heat haze and light and also because officially you are not really supposed to do it. But where I was, nobody really cared and just let the crazy German continue...

Hello Felix!
Glad you got 500! I saw your photo before you started this topic   Congrats!
It was nice to meeting you in Almaty. Try to come somewhere end summer - beginning of autumn for perfect light and blue clear sky of Almaty. You know how to find me
Safe flights! I am glad I have a friend - pilot who flies on MD-11!
Brgds, Yerbol
With best regards from Almaty

Hi all,

thanks for the comments!

@clickhappy: Not many more RUH photos left at the moment, but maybe I'll go there again later this year, when the heat has gone... There should be one or two photos from Beirut coming up!
@Fyodor: Thank you! But there is no way I can compete with you!
@ Yerbol: Maybe I will come over to Almaty in September again, no plans for August yet. But crew scheduling decides anyway!

Cheers,

Felix
