that is a good idea, having a maintenance category for aircraft photos.

Exactly.....Unfortunately this suggestion was not implemented out here....probably the time involved in sorting out the pics to fit in.

There are only a few maintenance pictures because the most are/will be rejected with "motive" because of obstructions!
Thanks to all ONE-Star voters just to push a photograph down!!!

Also, not many MROs will be happy to have photos of their work posted online. Here at Delta photos are not permitted of any customer aircraft anywhere on TechOps property, and no photos of DL aircraft which are in the process of being maintained. I'm sure most airlines have similar policies, as it isn't very good press to see a company's aircraft stripped of paint, missing parts, covered in plastic sheet, etc.

Having a defined category will only make it easier for companies to file complaints and have the photos taken down (and make it more tempting for photographers to violate the rules and upload the pics...)
I reject your reality and substitute my own...

@KPWMSpotter

I agree that some companies would not like it.
You can see a lot of pictures of crashed aircrafts here and I am shure that an involved company is also not happy about that!!!

But aviation is not just only about airliners!!!

And the the club "Ein Hansajet für Hamburg e.V." is quiet happy about a few pictures during the restauration (which I think is also maintenance) shown here like this:

I remember last year one engine of the Breitling-Conny was maintenend at Hamburg live in front of a few thousand aviation enthusiast with probably thousands of photos existing now! You can see some good ones even on facebook and the technichians are quiet happy about that!

I also remember a few years ago a big political discussion in Germany because of CIA-flights in Europe with suspected terrorists. These flights were of course spotted by aircraftspotters with a lot of photos! And the CIA was not happy about that! And it could be that some of this flights are also visile at this db!

And I know a lot of pilots who are not happy about beeing spotted at their work or hobby!
