Well , there is no scheduled time. If you want to get something you have be there all day. Usually they taking off about half an hour before performance. GYY is not good airport for spotting. There is no good spot near runway. Close to airport fence you can get something on the ground. Watch for security. In the day like those two they propably will be around watching departures and arrivals. I was trying today to get some B1B's at ORD but none arrived... Was waiting for An124 but never arrived too (should fly from MIA). Well , maybe tomorrow...

Ok. Here is what was going on.
Usually Lancers arrived for the arishow at friday afternoon (got them twice). Two of them. But this time none arrived.
Also found on flightaware that An124 was scheduled from MIA to arrive friday afternoon. They rescheduled twice then cancelled... Did not find when departed from MIA and where.
But saturday I was on Willis Tower and was watching airshow from Skydeck. Got some decent shots of Blue Angels when they were passing by and flying around skyscraper. Also got Fat Albert when was flying before Blue Angels performance. Didn't see airshow from that place before...

thanks Gabriel, but I guess you means John Hancock tower, not Willis tower, also you have to shoot through the window glass, caused any problem for your pictures? Anyway, that's great idea to go there, was there crowded?

No , no. I was on Willis Tower (former Sears Tower). Propably Hancock was more crowded.
I was shooting thru glass and yes , it gave some blur , but when Blue Angels passed close by (some turns and preparing flights) it was pretty good. There was a lot of peoples and they squeezed when Blue Angels start their show at north side of Skydeck. Some of them were not interested on airshow.
I wasn't thinking to see airshow from a deck. Just some time ago I promised my son to show him Willis Twr and 'couse summertime almost ends and new schoolyear begins I had to take him. Luckily there was an airshow the same time...
Next year I'm gonna try Hancock.
