Air NZ 747's At AKL

Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:38 am

Hi there,

I know that Air New Zealand's 747-400's are soon to be gone from our skies.    And I have noticed they only depart AKL at night for SFO. I have always wanted to photograph one before they go, but does anybody know how to find out if it's going somewhere else during the day? (I can't do night photography) or even find out a few days before?
Many thanks in advance.

Quoting jg4817 (Thread starter):

Use Flightradar24. They fly them across the Tasman sometimes.. Such as today as NZ135/6 to BNE - I think it might be scheduled for Saturdays AKL-BNE.
It's all about the destination AND the journey.

Yes, I have this same problem. Would be really nice to get a shot of the final air NZ 744s
A bad day spotting is better than a good day at work.

Lately they have been sitting at the NZ jetbase, they are only used during peak times(Fri-Mon)
