I guess that is my motivation.....
Quoting megatop412 (Reply 1):
I lost the motivation some time ago due to what seemed to be increasingly arcane acceptance criteria.
You don't upload anymore?
Quoting Newark727 (Reply 2):
I'm more likely to take a photo that passes screening of an American Airlines 737-800 or a United 757-200, even if I'd rather be uploading an unusual sighting like an Astar DC-8 on one of its later operational flights or the 787 Dream Tour visiting Long Beach, because they were taken on a bad day for it or from a location that I had only visited for the first time and didn't have an understanding of getting a quality shot from.
I hear you! I kind of go for the "easier" shots when I upload, instead of more interesting take off's or Air to Air images I may have! I know full well that those won't meet this site's standards! I keep trying to shoot more interesting angles, mind you!
Quoting Silver1SWA (Reply 4):
A tricky shot, conditions with exceptional light, special or rare visitor to my airport (now SAN) are pretty much my only motivations these days.
Wow, I wish I had that luxury. To get anything accepted on here I need to go "boring" I'm afraid.
Quoting angad84 (Reply 5):
I don't upload anything that I don't like, even if they would make the cut.
I guess we're different that way. I have definitely uploaded images that I am not too excited about myself.
Making the database bigger and putting my country of residence on the map, aviation wise; these are my motivations.
Quoting dendrobatid (Reply 6):
So, No tax on Rotax, like you your last reason is my main one too. I am the photographer for the International Auster Club
I shoot for our club too!
So true! "KOMPRESS" now makes a sexy small chopper with a Rotax 914 turbo installed!
Quoting JKPhotos (Reply 7):
I try to only upload the nicer ones or those who just have a special meaning for me (whereas others could consider them as boring
True, some pics may seem boring but people don't know what you went through to get that particular shot!
Only yesterday I managed to get a cop to open up the gate for me in order to shoot some confiscated planes!
If the image makes it through, it will pretty much blend in with the rest of the pics on A-net that day!
Quoting Jez (Reply 8):
Without wishing to over-romanticise it, there is a certain "purity" in those images, where the motivation of the shutter push was in no way influenced by the rules of sites such as this.
Not over-romanticizing at all! Well said! I guess aviation was more romantic back then!
Quoting IRISH251 (Reply 9):
Most of my uploads are scans of slides and, like others, I was attracted by sharing my older images (some rare) with a wider community.
Please keep them coming! How great would it be if we´d have a database of every plane that ever existed......okay, that is not gonna happen, but let's do our best at least!

I feel like the A318 at times: I am probably worth more parted out than as a whole.
