Specific Sizes Or Resolutions?

Sun May 19, 2013 2:06 am

Hi guys.

I was wondering if you could search for specific sizes of photos with a certain resolution for example "1152x" and higher.

Or is it possible to maybe filter the results according to size/resolution?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to search by image size.

That said, with 1600 pixels being the largest size allowed for upload here, you can search the site for "1600pix" and you will find that many photographers add this in the remarks section of their appropriately sized photos:
http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...ge=&thumbnails=&engine_version=6.0
Flown on: C150/172/206, DHC-2/3, AS350, J32, Q400, CR7/9, E135/40/45/75, DC9, A320, B732/4/7/8/9, 744, 752/3, 763, MD80

Many photographers do specify the width of their photos in the "Remark" field. So just search for "1200px", "1300px", "1400px" etc... for example.

Another way that will work to quite some extend is to use Google Images. Use search queries like "airliners.net XXXXX" (replace the XXXXX with specific aircraft info like type, reg no etc...) and set the image size to return. Google allows the following size options : Large, Medium, Icon, Larger Than and Exactly. This method will not return recent images though as Google does take some time (from a few hours to several days, depending on the site's authority/popularity) to index new pages.

Hope that helps!

Extending on Krishley's post, if you add 'site:airliners.net' at the end of your search criteria you will limit all hits to this site. His way will likely return same or similar results but may get some from other sites.
