Photographing A380 At ATL

Thu Nov 14, 2013 4:46 am

I am going to try to get Korean Air's Airbus A380 at ATL next week. I am only going to have 1 day, probably both arrival and departure, but unsure about departure. Last time I was in ATL I had an unwanted chat with Homeland Security. Though he was really cool about airline photography, I would just as soon that not happen again. A few questions for people in the know about ATL if you don't mind.
1) Does the A380 fly in every day now? and if it does,
2) Do you know arrival and departure times?
3) If it doesn't fly in every day, does it have regularly scheduled days?
4) Last but not least, is there a good area to photograph her in ATL? I will have a car so getting around shouldn't be an issue.

With only 4 shots in the database, I may be out of luck as I would think there would be more A380 shots by now.

Thanks for any information.

It looks like the 380 prefers runway 27L/9R.

There is a cell phone waiting lot that is parallel to 9L . It is a little below ground level and there is a fence but I think you can still get some good shots from there with a decent telephoto.
