Hmmm Wasn't this talked about at the very-beginning-of-April a few years ago?
On the other hand... maybe they will follow Manchester and encourage the inherant photographic surveillance.

Banning them entirely?

Could you elaborate?

Assuming HAL wish to establish a dedicated facility, there are two issues:

i) It may not be conducive to photography. For example, the Queen's Building; great facility but shooting into the sun for the majority of the day.

ii) The Police will 'force' enthusiasts to use the facility and deter photographers from using other locations.

It will be interesting to see what materialises.

It will probably be a card or id. scheme.

Bedfont Football Club have a membership scheme for supporters of the Club. Photographers can join as supporters and pay a nominal fee to stand near one of the football pitches and take photos of arriving aircraft. As simple as that.

I have no idea how to join or pay. Presumably one enquiries at the Club House? If someone could provide the relevant information, it would be appreciated.

I have been a member at Bedfont for a few years and you do sign up at the bar which tends to be open in the evenings.
If my memory serves me correctly, it was £20 for the first year and £10 a year thereafter and it is only a very short walk from Myrtle Ave..

The area you can use is not large and is pretty restricted if there is a football match or training on. As a member you can then use the bar and toilet facilities too. Whilst I have never had any issues,(I do not go that often) I have heard that they are less happy with you being about and taking photos when junior matches are on.

Such is the paranoia in this country that I get quite nervous taking photos anywhere near children.
