I have a non major low cost US airline interested in purchasing one of my photos of their aircraft. I would consider the photo rather common being a near side-on takeoff climb shot. The photo was taken nearly 4 years ago.
Their initial request asked for a price for full rights. I have since gone back for further clarification on intent of use and their definition of full rights seeing if they are asking for the copyright or just rights of use and I retain the copyright.
The reply I received was for usage rights they would like to use the photo for any of their ads, identity and promotions. Pretty broad in my opinion. My contact looks to be from the parent company and not the airline (at least based on the email address)
Any advice on how to proceed and what price to quote based on the limited info?
I believe offering a license of unlimited non exclusive use for 1 year, no resale privileges and I retain ownership and copyright (or something similar) may be the best proposal but am still not sure how to price this since it's not for a specific use.
I don't really want to give up my copyright or price myself out to the next similar image but I also don't want to underprice since the distribution could be quite high.
Advice is greatly appreciated!!!
