Sunset Troubles

Fri Feb 09, 2018 2:31 am

I have a really hard time editing my close to sunset photos. I can't seem to find the right levels, colors, or contrast ever. There's an image I have in my head what the plane actually looked like with my own eyes at the time of the shot but it's hard to pull that out post processing.

Here's an example. I adjusted the exposure slightly +0.8 stop, contrast about 4 percent and adjusted the highlights slightly. But I don't know if I can do anything else to save this one. Also when I'm exporting my photos resizing etc it seems like I'm losing a lot of quality from my original 5000 pixel wide original. The compression on this photo makes it look blurry and soft.
