Need some help for dustspot search

Fri Sep 28, 2018 6:00 am

Hello,

I have some problems finding the dustspots and halos in this picture:

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/ai ... 0af5f16b50

I'm editing in Lightroom 6 and taking the 'Spot-Removal'-tool to find the dustspots. Is there an alternative to make the better visible?

Unfortunately the comments of the screener are not very helpful to improve the picture or editing-skill. Hope i can learn on this way some skills to improve myself. =)

Thanks,

Dennis

Both will become easily visible by equalizing a photo. For dust spots, I remember their location, go back to the un-equalized version and use the healing/clone tool to remove them.

Hi Airkas,

thanks for your quick reply.

I have a problem to imagine what you are rejecting as a dust spot.

The last uploaded picture looks in LR like this:

I can't find any more spots. Is it possible that some clouds looks for you like that?

It was hard to read about a second reupload and the warning, because I was searching every peace in this picture to get the thing which the screener complains about.

Here the spots i tried to manage:

Hi,
The following are the Equalized versions from my PS :

And here, the RED CIRCLE areas are dirty zones. You can recognize them clearly.

Duplicate the layer your photo is on, equalize the top layer, select the bottom (original) layer, use heal/clone on the spots.
Then go clean your sensor.

Hi Harry,

many thanks for your posting. This was what i needed. I tried to clean up these areas but with LR i don't see those not as clear as your screenshot. Can I ask for a second opinion by you?

You're welcome. The" dirty" at the latest version looks ok to me. But it seems slightly Underexposed to me. ;)

A trick I've learned is that I will equalize the image and rapidly zoom in and out with my cursor. Seems to help me pinpoint any spots that are difficult to see or not mistake any spots that may exist only on my computer screen.
