Always nice to see a Seattlite, so first, welcome.
My first reaction is that the color is odd on both. I think that might be the color space you are using to process, or perhaps that you are shooting in a certain camera mode that dictates a color profile? They look dark and green. You can fix this in Camera Raw/Digital Photo Pro/Lightroom, whatever you use to process the raw images.
The citation is better than the 767 for sharpness, but it's also a bit dark and very high contrast, the darks are really dark.
The 767 looks overprocessed, as if it were soft to begin with and then sharpened up quite a bit.
Since you have CS6, try doing three or four passes of Smart Sharpen on the settings 96 / 0.2 / Gaussian. That will get you pretty close, I think to judging where you need to be.
You can also use regular USM at similar settings (threshold 0), but you'll have to select what you want to sharpen more carefully.[Edited 2012-09-25 15:39:00]
