Post-screening: Colour And Also Dark/dirty

Mon Nov 19, 2012 9:03 pm

Have had a couple rejected (in this instance by a screener-in-training) and I'm struggling to see what can actually be done to them.

First one was binned for red colour cast.

It's autumn over here and the sun does indeed do this, especially on a grey fuselage.

The second one was mainly for three little specks above the port-side wing, which are infact birds. Am I expected to "kill" the feathery creatures, just to get it accepted?   The other reasons were dark and soft.

Is there any way that I could get this one accepted or is it just not worth my bothering with it?

Cheers,
Tim

Possibly a little harsh in my opinion but there is a slight redness to it. If you're using a Canon dSLR, they're set to have a slight red cast. Just reduce the mid-tones in the red channel from 1.0 to 0.96, this removes the redness.

You know they are birds, but it's not obvious to the viewer. Just remove them.

With a good edit, I don't see why not.

It is just a bit red.

Yes, any specks that cannot easily be distinguished can be removed.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've stuck re-edited ones of these back in the queue now. Will these stand a better chance?

MD80 looks ok, but the C130 looks a little oversharpened now.

Better, but quality still borderline.
