Ok, July 25th, I flew to Buffalo?Niagara Intl from Colorado Springs.
My flight to CVG was on Delta flight 902 on a 727-200, first time I flew on a 727 in a while because DL used to use MD-88s on this route. I got to the airport early, good thing I did because there was a huge line for DL and the DL counter was understaffed so it took forever. I went to gate 4 and saw some famous people in the airport. I saw the Olympic committe chairman, Norm Blake and I saw that famous gymnast and her husband, forgot her name, but i know she's famous. Anyways, we were scheduled for a 845 departure, we boarded at 830 because the SLC flight was still boarding and DL understaffs at COS. We pushbacked at 855 and we taxiied to 35R behind a UA757. We tookoff, flew the SPRINGS2 departure, radar vecs to the BRK R-110 45 mile fix. Our routing was Springs2, Goodland, Hill City, Kansas City, Springfield, TARNE1 arrival into Cincinnati. We flew over Indianapolis, I was looking for the race track but no luck. We landed on runway 18R along with a DL MD-88 on approach to 18L, pretty cool. Flew over the Ohio river, no biggie, but for me it was because I see mountains everyday, and not water. We parked at gate B21. Went into the cockpit and talked with the FO about the University of ND, de boarded. I walked through CVG because it's my favorite airport and bought some starbucks and McDonalds. Walked to gate B14 for my 737-200 DL1654 flight to BUF. We departed on time and tookoff on 27 and flew the Cincinnati 8 departure, radar vecs to intercept FFO R-221 direct FFO, direct DJB, direct ERI, direct BUF. We just got a snack, I didn't eat it, just had some Caribou coffe, not as good as Starbucks, but good enough. We flew over Cleveland and Erie, PA and saw the Lake the last part of the flight. We landed on runway 5 at BUF, parked at gate 17, BUF airport is a mes right now cuz theyre expanding so they can accomodate Southwest when they start service in October, they'll have two gates. Good flight, good service. The aviation things I did while in the Buffalo area were: I went to flying tigers restauarant and then I went outside of the restaurant and took some pics of planes. At BUF I saw, DC-9s, 727s, 737s, MD-80s, DHC-8s, J31s, EMBs, ATRs, A320 of JetBlue, DC-3, Gulfstreams, Lears, 737-800 AA, CRJs and Saab 340s, it was pretty cool since they have like 8 airlines we dont have. Shuttle America Dash 8s looked pretty cool along with the AirTran DC-9s. I went to the Niagara Aerospace museum at the Summit Hills Mall near Niagara Falls AFB. Niagara Falls Airport is actually gonna get some airlines because of new management.
I left BUF on August 12th on DL flight 1444 to CVG. DL is not understaffed at BUF. 737-200 again, I actually don't mind flying on these birds. Scheduled departure for 1750, departed on time. Tookoff on runway 5 and turn right to intercept V115, direct JHW VOR. Saw niagara falls, Grand Island on our way out. Flew over Erie, PA again, then over Cleveland again, then flew the Cince3 arrival, Appleton transition into CVG. Some light occasional turbulence descending into CVG. Flew over Columbus, OH, saw Buckeye Stadium. We landed on 36R, saw the Cincinnati skyline on approach. We taxiied to gate B14 and I went into the cockpit and talked to the Capt. I de boarded and walked around CVG and bought some more Frapucino from Starbucks and bought a UC hat from SportsWorld. CVG is a great airport, I love it!!! Walked over to gate B3 for my 727 DL743 to COS. Saw a Sunworld 727 w/winglets next us at gate C5. Scheduled departure for 850, FAs were late arriving from CMH so we left at 915, saw the new new colors 757. Had a beautiful FA. We tookoff on runway 27, and I don't know our departure for this flight, but I do know we flew over STL, MCI, and then HLC, GLD, HGO, then COS. We landed on 35R in front of a NW A320. Saw a cool lightning storm over eastern Colorado and Western Kansas. We taxiied to gate 2 on taxiways E,H,and M. We arrived late at 950 instead of 935. Pretty nice flight. Good service. I always fly DL and am happier with DL every time I fly with them.
