so you think Britiannia is perfect- yeah?
I flew JMC to Majorca on board a B757-200 and they were fantastic, cabin crew were perfect loads of let room, meals were 100% tasty and the cabin crew could keep a straight face during the safety breifing.
I then flew with my dad on Airtours to the US, on a A330 aircraft. Not so much leg room as the B757 with JMC but just as good service. I had FREE headphones a window seat just behind the wing, and I even went to the rear of the A330 to have a chat with the crew for about 10 mins whilst the inflight movie was on. They gave me a safety card because I collect them (same as jmc) and they also let me have the 'jumpseat' upon landing.
In June 2000 I flew with Air 2000 to Paphos (B757) and was not dissapointed in their service. One bad thing- we were delayed 45mins due to paperwork. Service was just as good as Jmc.
Last week I relived my nightmare and give Britannia yet another chance. I flew on British European Shorts 360 from Exeter to Birmingham and then (after a 1hr delay) boarded a Britiannia B767-200 for my flight to Malaga. Just as I predicted- poor service, captain didn't talk to us, meal was something like dog vomit. This time yes the cabin crew were nice and friendly- just before landing. I was glad to get to Malaga!! Our bags took ages to come through at Malaga, but that isn't By's fult.
We didn't want bad service going back so we phoned up Britannia, told them about the hospitality I had recived both times I had flown with them and they couldn't stop the condolences coming! We stuffed them in and flew home on Monarch Airlines (A321) which was a good idea. Monarch was not only cheaper, the service was better and we had shedloads of leg room.
When we got to Birmingham, i found out the BY B762 was delayed 2 hrs flying home due to the late arrival of the operating aircraft.
So not only do BY have a poor service, they can't even run them on time and they expect us fellow passengers to pay more than a BETTER airline.
I know you can say that Britiannia have a better time keeping record than the other airlines but what's that if you don't get quality inflight service.
I have booked another Jmc flight and also a Virgin Flight.
I am not going on BY because of their service and not on BA because you never know the pilots could be out of their head!
I REST MY CASE. Britannia are c**p and lets all face up to that fact. No good protecting them, the way they carry on they are going to be in the scrapheap. If they ever go back to the way they were in the mid 1990's I will fly on them again and have no problem.
BRITANNIA- HERE'S @ HINT:
DUMP 360 AND 360 EXTRA IT'S RUINED YOU.
(and replace your entire cabin crew)
Case dismissed. Jmc are the winners. Britannia is dead long live OTHER british airlines. Can't wait until British Midland goes transatlantic.
