The plane began its pull back and started taxiing from its bay. The new KUL airport is really big and it took a while for it to taxi to the active runway. The take-off was uneventful. On the initial climbout the sight from the window was breathtaking, I took snap shots of it. The journey was very pleasant, no bumps of any sort. The food served was adequate. I arrived in Osaka after some 6 hours of flying and touched down on a rainy city.
At Osaka I changed over to a 747-451B (N666US). Now this was an interesting flight. Still bearing flight NW070, this flight to Detroit was jammed packed. I sat right in the middle ! I began to worry about how I was going to pass my time just as I sat down. The thought of the 12 hours flight to Detroit while sitting between peoples at the centre aisle just killed me. I'm broad shouldered 6 footer and that was tough.

At climbout N666US seemed to struggle a little initially. I sat until my butt hurts and it was just difficult to get up and walk. The passengers besides me likes to sleep alot. Anyway the thing that strucked me most about this flight was during the meal time. The FAs made no attempt to wake up sleeping passengers or to get the other passengers to up-right their seats. When the FA came to my seat to serve our meal she made no attempt to wake the lady passenger on my right for her meal. I tried waking her but she was sound asleep. What the FA did was waited for ME to do the job of waking her. Anyway she didn't respond and the FA went on serving the others. Just as I unwrapped the foil of my meal the smell of the food must have woked the lady passenger up. As soon as she got up she frantically asked me "WHERE'S MY FOOD....WHERE'S MY FOOD ????" She got up and raced to the back of the airplane where the FAs now were and got her food ! Every meal time I had to ask the peole infront of me to "please up-right your seat coz it's difficult eating with your seat completely reclined !".
That was how my trip went across the Pacific. Upon approaching Detroit we descended pass the big lake of northern United States and I took some shots of it from the exit door on the right side of the aircraft...just beyond the right wing, an awesome shot.
