AKL-SEL On Korean Airlines, Best Airline.

Wed Oct 25, 2000 7:08 pm

I flew from auckland to seoul two weeks ago on Korean Air. The flight was 12hours. We arrived early. The inflight entertainment programme was awesome even though they did not have PTV's. We watched four movies. Two Korean and two english. We also watched the CBS news, funniest home videos and many others. The duty free was cheap on the plane. We boarded early and took of on time. I was in economy seated in seat 48a. A window seat. We had no turbulence during the flight to seoul. The flight crew were awesome. When you asked for a drink they got i and gave it to you instantly. I would rate there flight crew 5/5 for this flight. There food was nice. we had a choice of A korean meal which i choose. it was beautiful. It was rice done in this spicy sauce and meat with vegetables. The english meal was beef done in this real nice sauce also. We got seconds offered so i took it. Food was 4/5
Drinks and wine were 5/5.
We flew on a 777-200 and it was really big. It was seating arrangment 2-5-2. It was very clean and everything was tidy. 5/5

The flight attendants on this flight were very rude but still gave us good directions to seats and did help us the odd ocasion. 3/5
Inflight entertain ment was the same but it had different movies songs on the stereos. Korean air have 20 channels to choose from. Don't quote me on that.
Inflight Entertainment was 5/5
Food 5/5
We took of ten minutes late. The flight was very bumpy and the flight attendants were seated for about 30 minutes after takeoff. I kept losing my stomach and the pilot came over the intocom and said that after we get passed Japan the Turbulence would stop. Sure enough it did. People on the plane were actually crying and shaking as it seemed like the plane was going to crash.
The aircraft was a 777-300 and it was very long. Same seating arrangment as 772. The aircraft was very clean and tidy.
Rate 5/5
Over all i would rate both my flights on Korean air 9/10
They have good everything but a good safety record.

Nice report Airnewzealand. Korean Air always seems to get mixed reviews. Does Air New Zealand fly between Auckland and Seoul and, if so, why did you choose Korean Air?

AirNZ used to fly to seoul but due to the asianeconomic crisis stopped. Hopefully they will be starting back up in 2002. I choose Korean Air as i was told they had really good inflight service. Nothing can bet that.
