US Airways 737-300. What Should I Expect?

Sun Dec 31, 2000 3:23 pm

I'm going to fly MCI-PHL economy class on one of these in just under two weeks. What should I expect? Any IFE? Video?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

For the 737-300s used on these routes, there are video screens in the aisle every four or five rows, but they generally only use them for safety videos on two hour flights. Also, on these aircraft on these flights, they generally do not use the audio system either. In economy class, you will get a small snack.

One bit of advice on seating. In economy in the 737-300s there is one row that does not have windows. [I believe it is the 11th or 12th row, but I'm not sure. Best to check with reservations or the gate agents.] It's the row that is next to the main compressor blades of the jet engines. If you like to look out at the scenery below (thats the best entertainment for me), make sure you are not assigned to that row.

I'm in row 9. One up from the exit row so I suspect my seat won't recline but at least there will be a window so I can get a great view of...well....the wing and engine. This will be ok, seeing out is all that matters.

I flew LGA-TPA Sept of 98 on a US 733. Even though US coach legroom isint the best, I was impressed with how clean the plane was, one of the nicest 733s ive ever flown.
Have fun

I have also flown US 733 frequently, and I find them to be comfortable, although the coach seats are just a bit too hard, although it depends on how old the aircraft is. You should have a fun trip, although don't expect IFE.
