Flight:jetBlue flight #2 JFK-BUF
Seat: Row 2, seat B
After being deprived of the air for 11 months, I was glad to wake up at 4:50am to catch my flight to drop off my grandmother's christmas present: A Lhasa Apso puppy. The puppy was to be stored in the seat in front of us only, but yet it cost 7 dollars more to fly her! (I know they don't want pets.. but.. she should have gotten a seat)
I checked in electronically by typing in my conformation number- I found it was pretty funny that a window would pop up "Did you pack this bag yourself?" and you had to press yes or no.. kinda defeated the safety purpose, but it was fun anyway.
The front of the terminal was beautiful, and the gates were nice as well, but they reminded me of CDG with the circular pattern.
The plane was exactly on time, and the plane was more than half empty. All the flight attendants were extremely pleasant, except for one, who kept on yelling at my father and I to put the dog back in it's carrier (My dad was holding it because the dog was whining from the pressure changes)
The TV's were great... I felt like I was back on Virgin Atlantic... there was only infomericals on (Saturday morning) so I tracked my flight and watched the weather channel.
Snack were Bagel Mix or Blueberry Toast Chips... I chose the Blueberry Toast Chips... not exactly something I'd eat again, but not bad. I had a coke for a drink- I was surprised it was a full size can.
We landed 2 minutes early- perfect landing- never felt a landing so smooth... I barely noticed we landed.
Flight: Flight #3- BUF-JFK 11:00am
Seat: Row 13, seat A
Depature Time: 1:45pm (Ugh!)
Arrival Time: 3:15pm (Ugh!)
We knew the snow at JFK was heavy, so we called in advance, they told us the flight was "20 minutes late, but please arrive at 10:30 because we might take off on time" When we arrived at the airport, they told us a 40 minute delay... which wouldn't have been so bad if BUF had airplanes to look at! In the 3 hours that we were there, 3 planes had taken off or landed. I must say that BUF is a very clean and bright airport, but very boring. The board over the gate kept changing from 12:50 to 1:15, to 1:30 to finally 1:45... which is when we exactly took off. Seats again were wonderful and the TV's were better because something was actually on. Had a 3 year old brat behind me, but it didn't stop my unhappiness. Snacks were either the bagel mix or Chocolate Chip cookies- I went with the safety of the cookies!
Halfway into the flight, the pilot announced that we had to circle because of a Hold- JFK only had one runway open. So after a 20 minute tour of the Atlantic Ocean, New Jersey and Long Island, we finally landed and had a nice tour of Terminal 8 and 7 (Waved to Iberia, booed at British Airways)~Very sad that we didn't pass Terminal 1- where all the VS planes were!
Even after being stuck and circling, I still fell in love with jetBlue. I've realized that I won't be flying VS for a long time, but I consider jetBlue VS's American sister. They give you more than you pay for- I highly recommend them to all!
