My cockpit experiences are numerous (although none on KLM). Here are some of the really cool ones:
- Canadian Regional F-28, got to ride in the jumpseat for the entire flight from Fort McMurray (YMM) to Edmonton Municipal back when it was still open (YXD). Flying in a big jet (for that airport) right over downtown Edmonton was something else.
- Air BC Dash 8, only 4 people on the flight from YEG to YYC, so I asked to visit the flight deck halfway there. Had a great chat with the pilots and got to sit in the jumpseat for landing.
- Air Canada DC-9, got to land in the jumpseat on a flight from YWG to YEG.
- American Airlines MD-80, visited the cockpit after landing. Got to sit in the Captain's seat at the gate and, to show off the electronic checklist, he told me to advance the throttles (the engines were, of course, off). It only let me go about 20% forward when all the alarms went off telling me that the flaps weren't set, the brakes were on, etc...
In addition, i've visited the flightdecks of a CP DH8, AC A320, CP A320, AC BAe146, AC 767.
