NW1074 MSP - MDW 09:05A.M.Dc-9-30 N632NW 7-E

Got to MSP very early in the morning
(6:30) via one of those park and fly deals hotels have. This perticular hotel had a deal with
Frontier Airlines for their overnight crew in MSP and the crew was going to the airport on the
shuttle I was on and on the way to the airport I just was just gradually overhearing there
coversation about how the pay scale for Frontier worked very interesting, I think the head pilot
for Frotier was the Captain but I am not sure.Well we got to the airport and made our way to the
NW cheak- in counter. The line was fairly long but with all the agents at the counter we got
through in about 15 min. With knowing MSP like the back of my hand, my parents let me tour
the termanal while they went to gate 20-a and waited. I made my way to the green termanal and
saw the usual NW aircraft plus a Vanguard 737-200 and a America West A-320. I then proceded
to the regional termanal and the new gates at the end of the green beyond the regional termanal
where most if not all of the ARJ's gate. I also took a look down the new bridge joining the green
and gold termanal, very nice.Next was the blue termanal and saw my first 717 and the usual line
up at MSP for the rest of the majors. UA 737, 757 AA MD-80's TW MD-80's CO 735 DL 727
and 733. I then proceeded to the Dc-10 row of the red concoures were i hade a crasanwich from
my favorite Burgar King. I decided not to go down the rest of the red concourse so I decided to
go right to the gate. I hung around the end of the gold concourse until our flight was ready to
bored form a newly assigned gate of 20-b. Got abord the aircraft and I was amazed at how new
the aircraft looked in Northwest’s interior it looked like a 717. Well I made my way to seat in
row 7. We pushed back form the gate on time and made our way to the runway. There wasn’t
much wait to take off, I think we were number 3 for take off. Take off was very nice and
powerfull being a full flight, then we started heading in a south easterly direction towards MDW.
Drink service started right away and I had my usual gingeral and pretzals, for the reaminder of the
flight I looked at the inflight mag. and the sky mall catalog, then i looked out the window at the
clouds. Before I knew it we were starting to decend and I kept looking out of my window at the
amazing city of Chicago. The we landed in a hurry at MDW went right to our gate. When i got to
the gate I was amazed on how dirty the termanal was. It reminded me of my hometown airport of
ATY. I then retreaved my luggage and headed to the rental counter.

Sounds like a grat NW trip! HAve you been on a 717 before? Hope you have a good time and i'm looking foreward to reading the return leg!

I havent been on a 717 but i have been on tw's Dc-9's and they are a world of difference. I have also seen pic on this site of 717 interiers.

You mean compared to TW, NW DC9s are much better right.....
