hi all

The flight SR880 was an A321 (HB-IOF) and it was almost full in C and Y. We had a 35min delay, but they didn't even said why. Then our Ticinesi-captain explained (in German with the nice Ticino-accent) that we'll take off to the south (RW16). So we did, after the course around the midfield. The weather was fine and the croissants warm. Flight time was 1h05min! Did you ever had such a long fight on this leg, I didn't.
I had one hour to kill in terminal B at BRU. From the second floor the view to the tarmac is quite good. Nothing special that morning except an SN 321 with the blue belly.

Our MD-11 bound for Bamako via Ouaga didn't got a jetway gate. With a small delay we took off. The flight was absolutely full in Y, but I don't know about C-class. Dinner was quite good (first time I had 'eatable' food on long haul out of BRU). But only plastic knife and fork, that's poor. The FA's did a very good job. Our flight-altitude was less then 10'000m and the view of the Algerian desert was amazing. Flight time 4h53min. In the Sabenapassport was written that they’ll show us the film ‘Meet the parents’, the FA said it will be ‘The Kid’ and at the end they didn’t showed any movie! The stop in Ouaga took us about 45min. I'd say that more then 60% of the Y-passengers left the plane there. The only other plane on the tarmac was a Fokker 28 of Air Burkina.
The leg to BKO took us 1h10min. A sandwich was served and we arrived 15min premature. The chaos at Bamako-Senou airport was perfect, because an Air Afrique A300 arrived short before. But that’s Africa.

On our way back the mess at BKO was perfect again. So many flight for such an airport...there must be a chaos.
A TransBenin Yak42 to Cotonou, an Ethiopian B763 to Addis (over ACC, LOS), an Air Afrique 733 to Ouaga and Niamey, our SN to BRU, another Air Afrique flight to Paris and the Air France flight to CDG. All these flights within 3 hours.
I saw the our Sabena aircraft through the windows of the terminal. I expected an MD-11 but it was definitely not an MD-11. But it was not possible to verify to A/C. I thought it must be an A330, but I was not sure. I was right it was an A333 (OO-SFX). We had more then one hour delay. Onboard the captain said, they had problems with the check-in. Short flight to Ouaga (45min). Nothing to eat, only a drink. Long stay there. On the way back to BRU, the FA’s did a good job again, but the movie did not existed on this flight (from OUA) was horrible. Full flight in C and Y. Flight time: 5h31min. We landed short before 7o’clock in BRU. For my connecting flight to Zurich no problem (departure 7.25).

This time it was an A320 (HB-IJE) with the blue belly. The flight was almost full, I saw two empty seats. There were no Gazettes onboard! We had a short delay, but the captain said we’ll still be arriving on time in ZRH. The FA’s were very careful. The croissants and coffee were hot. The fine chocolates before landing in ZRH gave me the feeling of being back home. Flight time 48min. This was one of my best Swissair flight I ever had.
In Zurich we had only a ‘bus-gate’. But there was no bus! We had to wait 5min until the first bus arrived, and this in Zurich! I was ashamed for all the business passengers and tourists onboard. This should be the first impression of Switzerland...unbelievable.

BTW: My baggage did not caught the connection in BRU. I’m still waiting, poor service!!

take care

I think it has been taken away. But SN's Y-class is still not a top class.
