CLE-IAH --- Continental

Wed Jul 25, 2001 6:55 am

This isn't so much a "trip report" as it is a complaint. I flew CO 1993 CLE-IAH on 7/14/01. It was on a 737-300. Now, I have been on United and US Airways 733's before and CO's 733 was the most uncomfortable. I thought it was an isolated incident, as I have been hearing good things about CO. However, I learn I was wrong on the return trip. On 7/22/01 I flew IAH-CLE on 1535, a 757. I thought this would have to be a more comfortable aircraft. I was wrong again. CO has the most uncomfortable seat of any airline I have been on. I am disappointed with that. However, to there credit, we were on-time and the ground staff and flight attendants were friendly.

Strange that you thought the 757 was uncomfortable. I can see that about the 733 but the 757's are not that old compared to the 733's with CO. They all should also have the wingback headrests which are quite comfortable.

I thought all CO planes had the new headrests, but neither of my flights did.

I don;t think any of the 737-300s have the winged headrests. Also, there are afew of the older 757-200s in the fleet that still have the old style seats.

Only 4 or 5 737-300s have the winged headrests, but most have the new 737NG-style overhead bins. A large number of these aircraft will be phased out in the next 2-4 years. As of April, only 6 out of 41 757s have not been reconfigured with the winged headrests. A bunch of 757s have the 753 overhead bins.
