Had to make a quick trip to MKE this past weekend. Left on Saturday from DTW. I checked in at home via nwa.com and my printer spit out my boarding pass before I left home. I was assigned seat 5a which was a bulkhead seat. Lucky me.
Boarding was no problem. The plane was about 3/4 full I would guess. In contrast to some reports the plane seemed to be in good shape. Takeoff was smooth and the ride quite quiet up in row 5. Plus nobody in the middle seat. I had plenty of room. We were offered drinks from a tray...water or orange juice on the 5pm flight.
The trip home was a bit different. I had been assigned seat 24b. I asked for a change and was given 24a upon checkin. Unfortunately someone did take the middle seat. I felt quite cramped and so was thankful for the view to distract myself. I had a great view of the wing. It seemed quite beatup with peeling paint and grease everywhere. Back in the back it was qutie a bit noisier than up in row 5. Nothing for refreshment was offered.
I enjoyed the view on the way back. We went directly over Lake Michigan. Had a great view of my hometown, Muskegon, from 23,000 feet and then on into DTW.
This plane was continuing onto Tampa. As much as I enjoy flying 39 minutes in seat 24a was enough for me.
