Future Trip Q's - Delta LGW To TPA

Thu Oct 18, 2001 11:54 pm

Interesting to see the Delta posts as I'm flying to Tampa from London Gatwick this christmas. I've just received my itinerary which tells me I'm flying a 777 from London to Atlanta. Slight disappointment as I was hoping for an MD11 which I've never been on, and I've been on bag loads of 777's. Then from Atlanta to Tampa on a 767-400 which I'm rather looking forward to!

On the return I'm on a 737-200 ( Big thumbs up) Delta Express to Boston and then a 767-? to London Gatwick.

Couple of q.s
- Anyone know what 767 variant Delta use from Boston to LGW? What are they like for comfort, service etc.

- Anything to do at Boston Airport or the surrounds for ahem... 8 hours layover. Deltas fault - they have changed my schedule due to cancelling flights and can't get any availability to change to something at a better time.

Comments etc would be welcome!

Can't help you with alot but i'm pretty sure DL uses the 767-300 on your return journey.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I flew on a Delts 767-300 from Dublin to JFK and back in january. I thought the service was good, but there were no PTV's and the legroom was awful! You are lucky..... getting to go on a 732!

Your trip from BOS to LGW, you'll more than likely be on a 767-300 ER model. This model of course had the two cabin make up consisting of BusinessElite and Economy. Unfortunately, you will have no private T.V. (that's if you're flying in economy) for your viewing pleasure on this aircraft. If you're flying in BusinessElite though, of course you'll have your t.v. BUT, if you're flying in BusinessElite from BOS to LGW, the seat width and recline is a little less than that of the BusinessElite seats found in the 777 and MD-11. You'll still enjoy every minute of it though.

I know this isn't the answer to any of your questions, BUT..

You'll find TPA a great airport. VERY easy to get around in.. LAyout is simple, with little railtrams to get you from concourse-main bldg.. If you want, their website is http://www.tampaairport.com. I fly there when I visit family.

Have a good trip, and post a report when you're home!

Lets do some sexy math. We add you, subtract your clothes, divide your legs and multiply
